“A great photograph is a full expression of what one feels about what is being photographed in the deepest sense and is thereby a true expression of what one feels about life in its entirety.” ― Ansel Adams
When I am asked how I could describe my photography I always seem to struggle to define what it is that I do, but this pretty much sums it up. There's photographs that look pleasing to the eye- perfect, if you will; but if there is no memory behind them, people will rarely go back to look at photos. Then there are moments that speak right from the heart, and those photos are the moments worth waiting for and taking. Every photo is so unique and different but they all have one thing in common- they are all full of memories. Old and new, beautiful ones and some messy ones too. I believe those are worth documenting. Not in a predictable tacky way, but in a honest, raw and simple way instead. With all the chaos and beautiful mess. The pretty flowers but also the rain. The hugs, the sunsets but also the tears and laughs. Memories over visuals. Documenting over creating. That's my approach.
